doPublicity Software Targets Local Digital Signage Opportunities

23 Jun 2008
doPublicity, a US based digital signage technology business, has launched a low cost digital signage solution for small store owners and local media providers.

The system starts with an online 'calculator' which is designed to help prospective network owners assess their capital costs and expected revenue based on potential advertising sales. The 'calculator' matches a range of variables, such as advertising loop length, ad sales prices and footfall to give a budget around which the network owner can design his infrastructure.

The system then offers all the necessary advertising creation tools, display player, daily updates, monitoring, reporting and news required to satisfy the basic digital signage requirements.

It is then upto the operator to find the local advertisers.

AKA COMMENT

This is an interesting take on the digital signage concept from doPublicity - as there is no reason why local entrepreneurs and small shopping groups should not be implementing their own networks.

The costs no longer need to be prohibitive and with the basic tools and some relevant content in place, there is a proven appetite from local advertisers to exploit.
