ING Direct Selects Rise Vision For Chicago Cafe
11 Mar 2008
ING Direct USA has selected Rise Vision Inc to install digital signage at its new Chicago Cafe concept.
ING Direct is the largest direct bank in the US, and has developed a format of unique cafe retail outlets, where they install computer terminals for customers to conduct banking transaction in between meeting their friends and having a cup of coffee.
The Chicago Cafe features a street facing video wall of 7 LCDs controlled that deliver a range of information on mortgage rates, bank products and the daily coffee specials to passers-by. The video wall is configured (using Matrox QID cards) to either show all the same content, or to synchronise different content across the different displays.
On the inside walls of the cafe are mounted Plasma screens - connected to interactive LCD terminals - that enable customers to watch interactive tutorials on bank products and services.
Rise Vision provides the software, system and internet content management.
AKA COMMENT
Banks are looking for new ways to engage and interact with their customers - and the fact the ING consider that interactive digital signage formats can provide better targeted and more cost effective marketing and brand building opportunities than a traditional bank employee, says a great deal about the future direction of retail - and the part that digital is set to play within it.
