S3mer Launches SaaS, Enterprise & Free Digital Signage Software
31 Jan 2009
s3mer the Puerto Rican digital signage software company (pronounced 'sTREmer'), has launched commercially available editions of its content management systems. The company originally developed a Spanish language digital signage product for its local market - but with the release of new SaaS and Enterprise products - it is making its portfolio more widely available.
The product is available as both a 'SaaS' (software is provided on-line as an ongoing service contract) model and an 'Enterprise' (product is licensed and handed over to the customer). It is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese - and is compatible with Mac OS X, WIndows XP, Windows Vista and Linux.
The company already offers a free 'lite' version of their s3mer product - this is available on-line and comes with s3mer's own advertising inserted into the playlist.
AKA COMMENT
This company appears to be keeping all its options open. The software supports almost every format, it works on every operating system and is available as either Free, SaaS or Enterprise versions. Offered in 3 languages, it is immediately applicable to the fast growing Latin American digital signage market, a market for which none of the major software providers have yet created 'own-language' versions.
It is also interesting to note their version of the 'free' software proposition - the company inserts adverts of its choosing into the playlist of any company using their free product. This potentially turns them into a media house also and is a neat way to benefit if the free networks scale.
